Pioneer Cemetery

Sylmar's Pioneer Cemetery is another sadly abandoned cemetery, similar to Tujunga's Pioneer Cemetery. The cemetery was in operation from the late 1800's until it was abandoned in the 1950's. Only a handful of markers survived years of vandalism. Today, a group of volunteers is attempting to put names to the lost graves - buried bodies that are being located with ground penetrating radar.
One hour guided walking tour - no sandals - bring hats and water.
