This Month's Events:
Tour The Sunset Strip!
Saturday, March 4th, 3:00 p.m.
The Sunset Strip is a part of Hollywood history, and Rock and Roll History.
The nightclubs like Ciro's and Dino's are where the Hollywood elite went to play, and rock venues like the Roxy, Whiskey-a-go-go and Gazarri's are where top bands such as Van Halen, The Doors, and the Byrds got their start. Roy Oldenkamp, president of West Hollywood Preservation Alliance, will lead us on a walking tour down Sunset Boulevard.
What: About a mile and a half, so wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, bring water. We'll end the tour at Pink Taco for drinks.
When: Saturday March 4th at 3PM
Where: Meet at the iconic Tower Records store, located at the intersection of Sunset and Horn. There are several parking options, but the best is a very large parking lot on the south side of Sunset at the intersection of Sunset and Sunset Plaza. Tower Records is about a block west of there.
Cost: $10 donation to West Hollywood Preservation, and $5 to $10 for parking.
This is a limited attendance tour - only 20 people! You must RSVP. If we get enough responses, we can add a tour the next Saturday.
