Grand Central Airport

Monday March 17th 7:00pm
La Crescenta Center for Spiritual Living
At the intersection of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta

From 1928 to WWII, Grand Central Airport in Glendale was Southern California's main airport, and was a key site in aviation history. Important figures involved with Grand Central included Charles Lindberg, Amelia Earhart, William Boeing, Jack Northrup and Howard Hughes. The airport is long gone, but the control tower is currently being restored by the Disney Corporation. We'll get a report on progress of the restoration from the City of Glendale, and watch the movie "When Glendale Ruled the Skies".

Regular meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the the Center for Spiritual Living, formerly known as the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science located at the intersection of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta.
