Montrose Library Tour

Saturday January 3rd, 10AM

In another of our quests to discover the hidden gems of CV...

Who says the Crescenta Valley has no great modern architecture? The Montrose Library was a pretty cutting edge design when it was built in 1961. Let's take a tour of this still gorgeous structure and learn from an expert, "What makes this good architecture?"

Our expert in this case is Laura Friedman who is active in the LA Conservancy, serving in the leadership of the Conservancy's famous Modern Committee. Laura is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians, as well as a member of the Design Review Board in the city of Glendale.

After a tour of the building Ms. Friedman will treat us to a Home * What's Happening This Month * Past Meetings and Events * Links History and Historic Sites of the Valley * Then and Now Photos * Lost Crescenta The 1934 New Year's Flood Tour "slide show" on modern architecture and the recent work of the LA Conservancy Modern Committee.

This tour is free and open to the public.
