Glendale locations were used by Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd in several of their classic silent films. You'll hear where those locations were, and how they were discovered. The presentation will include a showing of Harold Lloyd's 1919 one-reeler Billy Blazes, Esq., shot entirely in Glendale. Our presenter Paul Ayers is a collaborator on a series of books written by John Bengtson which identify current locations of sites used in the making of silent movies. Past books focused on the films made by Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Harold Lloyd.
Regular meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the the Center for Spiritual Living, formerly known as the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science located at the intersection of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta.
