The so-called "Poverty Row" Studios, such as Monogram and Republic Pictures, cranked out thousands of low-budget movies from the '20s through the '50s. We can thank them for such gems as "Attack of the Robot Monsters", "Plan 9 From Outer Space" and "The Terror of Tiny Town". Author E.J. Stephens will detail the history of this not-so-golden age of filmmaking.
Regular meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the the Center for Spiritual Living, formerly known as the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science located at the intersection of Dunsmore and Santa Carlotta.
